In 2000, our creator, Eve, embarked on a transformative journey, spending a year teaching English as a Second Language to students aged 3 to 22 in China.

Upon returning to the UK, she completed her teaching degree, fueled by her passion for phonics and reading foundations. After gaining invaluable experience in small village schools, Eve was seconded by The Department for Education to Germany, where she dedicated nine years to teaching Pre-Primary children, many of whom were new to the English language.

During this time, she introduced daily phonics sessions, crafted her first literacy schemes, and earned her MA in Early Education.

Upon returning to the UK Eve chased the sun and cream teas in Cornwall, taking on the role of Senior Leader at a school in, where she tirelessly supported literacy initiatives. Her dedication earned her the prestigious National for Reading Pleasure Teacher award in 2020 from The Open University, UKLA and Egmont Publishing, and she has since been featured in several books, websites, and video interviews to support teachers and leaders in empowering literacy.

Recently, Eve has successfully supported schools across the South West of England with literacy through her role as a KS1 MAT Improvement Lead, DfE Literacy Specialist and Headteacher.
